UC Health wanted to develop an architecturally-iconic building that would signify the world class care that was to be provided there. The building would bring together more than 15 programs related to the neuroscience program at UC Health.
Facility would consist of two layers of parking structure for 172 interior parking spaces below 194,000 SF of outpatient clinic space. That includes clinics, MRI, CT, Infusion, Physical Therapy, Lab and general office/conference space.
Project requirement to have 40% diversity participation within the surrounding zip codes of the project site based on the New Market Tax Credit funding for the project.

Pushed the team to develop a full scale exterior mockup of the tensile mesh sun shade system since it had never been used in this manner or magnitude anywhere in the country.
Developed the budget for initially-planned shelled floor to be fitted out and aided in managing to turn-over the whole building (this floor included) at the original pre-defined opening date.
Assisted in executing the leadership and donor vision to create a small museum at the entrance as UC Health. Identified a donor who contributed museum quality, Rookwood pottery to the building.
Managed the budget of the project in such a way that while the original budget created by the architect and owner assumed all existing furniture and technology, the owner was able to afford all NEW furniture, equipment and technology.
“When I negotiated Hplex’s contract and they agreed to a fixed fee, to later see how hard the individuals worked and countless hours provided, I think our side won.”
